Day dedicated to experiments in ATV 'extent of demonstrations to "celebrate" the 105th anniversary of the visit G. Marconi to the city of Ancona and more specifically to the Lighthouse of the Monte dei Cappuccini.

being that of 'an ATV' activities as "plug and play" I did a round of phone calls and e-mail to ativuisti most hardened and willing to ask some "sked" and someone replied to 'appeal.
So this morning, after a quick preliminary check, I loaded the equipment into the car to be ready for the actual activities of the early afternoon.
Before you go to the official station I got on my usual cocuzzoletto (Paterno di Ancona) for further field testing in the meantime Luke (i6qiz) and Marco had reached the location of the lighthouse. Within minutes the two "partners" were able to send the video signal at 23 cm that has come to my receiver (and television) so beautiful.
In the meantime, perhaps a little late (for us) on the roadmap, we have heard on the frequency of support, but Francis ik3hhg video signal even the 'shadow. I've also tried to send (with a few more watts) in its direction but nothing to do ... microwaves el 'ATVs are like this! I also contacted
iw3rmr Alessandro, who was out for maintenance on its repeaters (ATV always) and we tried to "hook" but again nothing done ... is not a day!
Given the lack of propagation, and other corresponding closest I've decided to join my colleagues the Lighthouse, that sounds easy but it was a good grind to get up on top of foot starting from the city and with a minimum of baggage ...
But once arrived on the spot that you can enjoy the spectacular views amply repays the fatigue, a 360-degree view from Mount Conero to the coast to Pesaro and beyond, haze permitting! Not to mention the sunsets over the sea ...
But we are all 'amateur radio activities, Mark and Luke call to breakneck (a term little ham, but that makes the very idea Ancona ) on VHF and UHF with some good results while Piero ik6jbn work in HF (cc ) and I ... I do the photos and I take care of the public relations with visitors passing through.
While we were busy in our business here and appear among the branches of a fig tree 'india, with a jump down from the wall boundary, a' mo an elf, in the midst of our equipment, a slender figure, with gray hair but lively and dynamic.
